Hello all,

There are three ways to chat live to the PR community.

The Shoutbox on the front page of PirateRevival (Most Common)
Chat using the on-line web page (No Software needed)
Chat using MIRC (Software install needed)

Although most users now chat on the Shoutbox, you may find people hanging around the IRC chat rooms

Here's a little tutorial on using both the web-page & MIRC live chat for PR visitors & DJ's. Please Contact Us if you have any problems.

1.) On-Line chat through web-page (No Software Needed)

CLICK HERE to open the live chat page in your Internet Browser
The page runs JAVA and may need to be allowed.
Once you have allowed JAVA, the page will connect direct to the PirateRevival IRC LIVE chatroom using your PR Username from the site.
You will now enter the PirateRevival Live Chat Room

2.) On-Line chat through MIRC (Software Install Needed)

Download MIRC by clicking HERE and save it to your PC.
Once downloaded, double-click the file (mirc621.exe) and follow the instructions to install.
Once installed, open up mIRC. (Usually in the Start -> Programs Folder)
Close every popup window that opens
Click FILE -> SELECT SERVER
"mIRC options-Server" window opens. Select "EFnet" from the "IRC Network" pulldown box
Select any server from the "IRC Server" pulldown box as it doesn't matter to which server you connect, as long as its in the EFnet network.
Click OK
Click the "Connect to Server" button in the top left corner and wait for the "mIRC Favorites" window to open. This could take some time as mIRC is setting up the connection to the server
Enter #piraterevival as the channel you want to join and click the "Join" button

Make sure you select Other... from the channel dropdown
Enter #piraterevival when asked

Or goto http://www.efnet.org enter a username
Type #piraterevival in the channel window
Click Login

Here are a few useful commands once you are connected:
/me <Type your message here>
/nick <Enter a new user ID here> (Max 9 characters)

See you there

Irc servers sometimes go down. Ya can reconnect via a different server.

Just go back to beginning & sign in under a different efnet server.
